Do I need scaffolding to replace fascias?
For most two-storey houses, yes, or at least a suitable access tower, because the work runs along the full length of the eaves and the boards are long. Bungalows can sometimes be done with platforms and ladders. We plan safe access for your property and include it clearly in the quote.
Can new fascias stop damp in our bedroom ceiling?
They can if the damp is caused by water getting in at the eaves, for example from a rotten fascia, a gutter overflowing behind the board or perished felt. New fascias with an eaves support tray direct water into the gutter properly. If the damp has another cause, such as condensation, we will tell you.
Can UPVC roofline be cleaned instead of replaced?
Yes, if the boards are sound and well fixed. Green algae, black streaks and weathering can usually be cleaned off, and perished seals or loose trims put right. Cleaning is a sensible choice where the timber behind was properly replaced when the UPVC went on. We check that first, because capped timber can still rot underneath.
